On Christmas Eve we braved the very unpleasant weather and went for a walk. We needed to expend some calories before the feasting began.
The snow that had fallen at the weekend had semi-melted in the rain and then re-frozen, so everything was covered in a thick film of ice.
It was drizzly, foggy and icy; so we cheered ourselves up with a walk to the local cemetry.
Much like expending calories before consuming them, I am a firm believer in reminding ourselves of the not so great things in life before setting out to have a rollicking good time.
Might just have something to do with a calvinist Scottish upbringing. It may also be because I have become a little bit Viennese and the locals do love a good cemetery outing.
Despite the yeuchy weather and poor light, I managed to get a few shots of the spooky ice.
We then enjoyed a really lovely Christmas, hope yours was good as well.
