Well it was all very dramatic in my house today. A spider had trapped a sizeable bug in its web and was about to start on lunch. I started to photograph the crime scene just as the bug announced its general “not-quite-dead-yet-ness” by moving, pretty vigorously. The noise of my shutter scared the spider away and after taking a few more shots of the helpless creature, I liberated it. It was probably munched by a bird seconds after I chucked it outside, still wrapped up in the web and probably somewhat dazed; but I am sure you will agree that it is the thought that counts.
I am sorry spider, I know you were probably looking forward to your feast, but eating insects alive is just rude.
