This has been an amazingly good year for my clematis plants.
It began in Spring when a variegated variety that I planted about three years ago, carpeted the whole of my garden fence with its delicate little flowers. Then through late Spring and early Summer, other varieties have come into bloom and kept the colour going.
I don’t know if the mild Spring helped, or if the plants have just been in the ground long enough now to feel at home. Whatever the reason, the results have had me reaching for the camera at frequent intervals.
